Sam Fournier

Sam Fournier, from Long Beach, started training in martial arts at age 17.

Having been involved in team sports throughout his life, he cherished watching boxing with his grandfather and admired the bravery and heart of the fighters. His interest in martial arts was sparked by old Pride Championship videos on YouTube, which led him to try MMA. Inspired by his favorite fighter, Badr Hari, and his Dutch Kickboxing/Muay Thai style, Sam sought out a Muay Thai gym, and his journey began.

For Sam, Muay Thai is the most exciting and well-developed martial art, allowing the use of the entire body with both striking and clinch grappling elements. The sport's intricate development and endless tactical approaches captivated him. Muay Thai's unmatched physical conditioning and significant mental growth taught Sam more about himself and life than any other experience. He is profoundly grateful for what the sport has given him.

Sam's proudest martial arts accomplishment is his first fight, where he overcame significant fear and found affirmation in his path. Outside of martial arts, he values spending time with friends and family, believing that "happiness is only real when shared."

As a coach, Sam aims to share the growth Muay Thai provided him. He believes Lineage Muay Thai offers the best community, combining a friendly learning environment with a competitive edge to prepare fighters for their first bout.
